POSTNATAL CARE IN HASTINGS

Once your baby arrives, everyone wants to know how they’re doing. Are they feeding? Sleeping? Gaining weight? All important questions, obviously. But I’d also like to know how you’re getting on.

(And I don’t mean the quick ‘yeah, fine’ you give when you’re fairly certain nobody has time for the actual answer.)

Recovering from birth, getting to know your baby and working out what on earth to do with everybody’s well-meaning (and occasionally spectacularly contradictory) advice can be a lot to navigate. You might have questions about feeding, your recovery, your baby’s wellbeing or something you can’t quite put your finger on.

I know that good postnatal care involves more than checking how the baby is doing. It’s about listening, asking the right questions, and helping you make sense of what’s happening, with practical advice tailored to your circumstances.

Whether you’re worried about something specific or would simply appreciate some time with an experienced midwife, we can have a proper conversation.

And yes, that includes how you’re doing.

Ways I Support You Postnatally

Ongoing or Single Visit  Postnatal  Care

My postnatal care combines the clinical support you'd expect from an experienced midwife with practical, everyday help to make those early weeks a little easier.

  • Clinical care for you and your baby, including monitoring your recovery, checking your baby's wellbeing, supporting feeding and addressing any physical or emotional concerns.

  • An extra pair of hands when you need them. I'm happy to settle and look after your baby while you shower, nap, or enjoy a little time to yourself.

  • Practical help around the house. Making you a coffee and a sandwich, washing up, sterilising bottles, or tackling a few jobs that inevitably pile up.

  • Care shaped around what you need most. There's no rigid agenda. We'll work together to decide what would be most helpful during each visit, whether that's clinical care, practical support, or a bit of both.

You can book me for eight weeks of ongoing postnatal care, giving you continuity and support as you recover and adjust to life with your baby.

Alternatively, one-off or ad hoc home visits are £150, or £250 if you'd also like a tongue-tie assessment included. You don't need to commit to a package to get some extra support when you need it.

And please don't feel you need to tidy up or get dressed before I arrive. I'm coming to help you, not inspect your housekeeping, and I’ll be jealous of your jammies.

Book a free phone or in-person consultation if you’d like to explore ongoing care and see whether I’m the right midwife for you.

No pressure – just a chance to talk things through and see what feels right.
