A routine pregnancy check-up is exactly as you would have in the hospital or clinic but in the comfort of your home. 

Ample time to discuss any questions or queries relating to your care and pregnancy to date. A chance for your partner/family to also be included in the appointment.

But...Do you really? Did you know that most hospital guidance isn't actually evidence-based??

 

What if you don’t want to have an induction? Or would you really, really like a caesarean birth, but it’s not being offered? Together, we will delve into the evidence and most up-to-date research to help inform your decision-making around your pregnancy, labour and birth. I’m not here to tell you what to do, but I can give you all the information and support for you to make up your mind. No two people are the same, no two pregnancies are the same, and quite often hospital guidelines don’t look at the individual.

Once you have decided, I can then help you to navigate the waters towards getting the birth you want, getting you booked in to see the right people or helping you to plan your next hospital appointment so you know what to ask, or have all the relevant evidence-based information at your fingertips!

Exploring Your Birth Options can be done either in-person or over Zoom, and usually takes around 90 minutes.

All pregnancy visits take place in the comfort of your own home with regular appointments lasting up to 1 hour, except for booking appointment, which lasts approximately 2 hours. Towards the end of pregnancy, I would be glad to offer an hour of relaxing reflexology with your visit.

You will have access to me throughout pregnancy via telephone, text/WhatsApp and email.

​

You are entitled to all NHS blood tests and scans. However, if you wish to have these done privately, this can be arranged at an extra cost, payable to the service provider.

I would replace a majority of NHS midwife appointments but would recommend that you keep any appointments with an NHS Obstetrician during your pregnancy, I could also attend these with you in person or virtually if you felt you wanted support. Alternatively, we can discuss upcoming appointments in advance so you can achieve the outcome you would like.

I would propose visits around the following dates in your pregnancy:

Booking – Taking your medical history and getting to know one another!

16 weeks

22 weeks

28 weeks –Optional blood test for iron levels

32 weeks

34 weeks – Optional blood test for iron levels (if 28-week levels were low/borderline)

36 weeks – Birth Plan/Options & Group B Strep (GBS) testing discussed and offered

38 weeks + reflexology

39 weeks + reflexology

40 weeks + reflexology

41 weeks + reflexology

(42/43/44 weeks + reflexology if required!)
